JAMIE BAKOS, P. Eng., PRESIDENT & CEO

Jamie Bakos is a specialist in clean technology and has provided leadership in delivering clean technology projects in Canada and internationally for over 25 years. A native of Saskatoon, Jamie moved to Guelph, Ontario, in 1990 to complete one of the first Environmental Engineering degrees offered in Canada. Since then, he has worked for companies such as Domtar, Ontario Power Generation, Pillsbury/ Green Giant Canada, Wardrop Engineering and Ingenium Group. Jamie has served on several boards, including the Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council (SWRC) and the Canadian Bioenergy Association (CANBIO).  He is committed to promoting the sustainable use of forestry, agricultural, and municipal biomass in renewable energy and bio-products applications. Jamie founded the company in 2006, and is responsible for corporate communications, business development, and corporate strategy.

ROGER SARRAZIN, DIRECTOR, TECHNOLOGY CONSTRUCTION & FABRICATION

Roger is an entrepreneur, licensed inter-provincial heavy duty mechanic, licensed inter-provincial welder and multi-disciplined tradesperson with over 40 years of heavy construction and business experience. He successfully partnered and built one of Saskatchewan’s largest biomass harvesting operations in the forestry industry contracting mainly to Weyerhaeuser from 1994 to 2006. Roger joined Titan in 2008, and is responsible for the company's project construction, equipment fabrication, and preventative maintenance. Roger serves on Titan's board of directors.

 

MICHELE KISS,  MANAGING PARTNER

Michele graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with an Honours Arts degree and completed her Masters in the Humanities in the UK in 1997. Since graduating, she has worked for several top-tier advertising agencies in Canada, most notably as an Account Executive at Ogilvy and Mather (Toronto), a Senior Account Executive at Anderson DDB (Toronto) and Project Manager at Karo Group (Calgary). Michele's clients have included companies such as HBC, Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, ConocoPhillips and ENMAX. Michele has been with Titan since 2008, and is responsible for marketing, administration and project management.

MAURICE TUCHELT, CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Maurice has over 40 years of electronic and mechanical design experience and has developed numerous electronic, mechanical, robotic and software systems for corporations including Water Group, IPSCO, and Brandt Industries. Maurice is the author of several patents, and has expertise in the areas of  laser alignment systems chemical reactor design, analog and digital hardware design, embedded control systems design, solid and flow modeling and analysis, optical systems design and SEM operation, and sample analysis. Maurice has been with Titan since 2008, and is responsible for technology development and design.

RICK PILLING, OPERATIONS MANAGER

Rick started with the company in early 2011 as a heavy equipment operator and gaining excellence in the operations maintenance of all of the company's equipment and processes since then.  Rick has managed dozens of offsite jobs in locations  across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and now leads the yard crew with projects including material processing, pyrolysis, charcoal activation, and construction and maintenance. Rick's keen eye for design was honed though a degree in art with a Master's Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Saskatchewan. After returning from time in London, England, he worked in the oilfields before joining Titan.

CHRIS BEDFORD, DIRECTOR

As Executive Chairman as of Titan Clean Energy Projects, Chris has helped focus the company's go to market strategy and market positioning. Chris began his career in 1983 at McKim Advertising in Winnipeg, and within five years was the appointed the firm’s youngest Vice President in its 100-year history. Chris left McKim briefly in late 1988 to join Sunshine Village Ski Resort as VP, Sales and Marketing.  He returned to McKim in 1989, eventually becoming Senior VP, Director of Client Services when the company was merged with BBDO Canada. Chris joined Karo in 1994 as a shareholder and head of the client services team, moving into the role of President two years later. Since 2007 he served as Chairman, President & CEO of Karo Group, an independent creative agency with offices in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto. Chris now consults privately on business and brand strategy and communication.

 

In addition to his work with Titan, Chris serves as an advisor to Sponsor Energy. He is a past board member of The Design Management Institute in Boston as well as Ronald McDonald House of Southern Alberta where he chaired the strategic planning and brand communication committees. Chris holds an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

GERALD TRUDEL, CONSULTANT

Gerald is a mechanist by trade with over 40 years of business management and supervisory experience. Responsibilities included quality control, environmental and safety management, administration, and client liaison. Gerald has demonstrated competency in project management, innovative solutions, and staff training. He successfully owned and operated a large forest harvesting company committed to safety, efficiency, and quality. Gerald designed and implemented a company specific safety program resulting in an operation with an exceptional safety performance.
